The dry-fly lands with perfection and drifts slowly across the tranquil waters of the small deep pool. Below the surface of this pristine environment the watchful eyes of a huge Labrador speckled brook trout tracks your fly's path along the surface. Then, when all conditions are right this truly beautiful fish launches itself from its lair and streaks towards its prey. At the surface an explosion of water, you react instantly, pull back on your rod with lighting reflexes and feel the connection, the hook is set.

Tamalik Resorts prides itself in giving the sportsman total wilderness packages. Our lodges have fly-in access only and are located in the majestic Mealy Mountain area of Labrador, Canada. Whitey's Pond, one of Tamalik's prime resorts is located on the headwaters of the famous Eagle River which flows from Whitey's pond some 125 miles to the Atlantic ocean. Formed thousands of years ago this watershed consists of large shallow rocky lakes, teaming with aquatic life producing, world class eastern speckled brook trout and aggressive large northern pike. This wilderness is connected by numerous streams and rivers which offer a diversity of pools and fishing opportunities for the modern outdoors person.
The lodge has been owned and operated by the Pike family for some 20 years and a new, modern, fully equipped lodge was constructed 2 years ago. All comforts of home are located at the lodge including hot and cold running water, private showers, full kitchen staff, experienced guides (that know the area) , satellite telephone, boats, motors, and so much more. Air Labrador, with over 50 yrs of wilderness flying experience, is Tamalik's air charter partner.
